Bonnie Hubscher
Master Pilates and Yoga Instructor
I remember the exact moment I realized that I would enjoy teaching fitness for the rest of my life: At 20 and a sophomore in college I was working in a health spa as a fitness instructor with limited training or fitness knowledge but a strong desire to provide the club members with the best customer service I was capable of. My sister and I opened Stayin' Alive Fitness Centers in 1980 in Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Working in a small family business required that I wear many hats but truly my favorite hat to wear was that of Fitness Instructor. In the 32 years of operating our two locations I became certified in a wide variety of Group Fitness formats, plus Personal Training.
In 1999 I discovered The Pilates Method of Exercise and dedicated the next five years learning the method thoroughly. I gained distinction with attainment of Pilates certification through All-American Pilates and served as one of their lead instructors for several years. I have always derived a tremendous amount of satisfaction in teaching others. Our two clubs carved out space in both locations for Pilates Apparatus Studios and I divided my time between the two, training private clients and directing the group fitness programs in addition to instructing group fitness.
I have a great deal of energy for my work because I love it so much--it never feels like work--it feels more like an opportunity to give of myself in the pursuit of helping our clients to reach their best fitness and health potentials. Since January 2012 I have had the privilege of working with Robert and Risa Voorhees in their beautiful Pilates Apparatus Studio training their clients in The Pilates Method of Exercise. In 2014, I complemented by Pilates instructor training by completing a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and have applied that deeper fundamental knowledge of how to best harmonize the mind, body, and spirit for our clients. My greatest reward is when a client shares with me how much their quality of life has improved since becoming a patron of Synergy Health & Wellness.
