LEVEL 1 REFORMER-TOWER
Group Pilates Apparatus session with an emphasis on spinal stabilization to maintain the neutral curves of the neck and spine during movement. Fitness/Pilates newcomers, and clients needing instruction addressing modifications for pre-existing musculoskeletal issues, and post physical therapy patients will gain knowledge and confidence needed to progress to multi-level classes or other types of fitness/sports. More advanced students are welcomed to participate in the class by progressing the exercises as they have been previously taught.
LEVEL 2 REFORMER-TOWER
Group Pilates Apparatus session bridging from contemporary to classical Pilates for the advanced level participants. Abiding by the Six Principles of Pilates this one hour session is brisk and athletic but always grounded in the fundamentals taught in Level 1. Participants with musculoskeletal issues are welcomed to participate after they have participated in an adequate number of private/Level 1 and multi-level sessions to ensure their understanding of modifying contraindicated exercises.
Group Pilates Apparatus session building upon the spinal stabilization fundamentals taught in Level 1 sessions. Clients are taught exercise progressions including spinal articulation in all planes of movement: Neck and trunk flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and rotation. Clients with pre existing musculoskeletal issues are welcomed to participate after they have participated in an adequate number of private/Level 1 sessions to ensure their understanding of modifying contraindicated exercises. Multi-level sessions include more exercises per hour which means the pace is quicker than Level 1.
Restorative Pilates is a deeply nourishing practice of myo-fascial release, muscle lengthening, and improved joint mobility supported by the use of props such as softly textured foam rollers, soft balls, and use of the large Pilates Apparatus. Postures are held upwards of 3-6 slow breaths offering the benefits of deep relaxation, breath awareness, and release of unconscious holding patterns to encourage a deep letting go into each posture. This practice offers a tremendously healing space to connect the mind and body accessed through deep breathing and relaxation. All levels of fitness will benefit from this 60 minute mind, body, and breath practice.
